This blend results in silky tannins, spicy white pepper flavors, a juicy mid-palate and a lingering finish. Where The fruit is sourced from Pelkan Ranch, owned by Sarahs father John Pelkan, in Knights Valley and Saralee Vineyard in Russian River Valley. Both valleys are located in Sonoma County where the marine influence keeps grapes cool, creating a moderate climate similar to the Rhone Valley in France. Why Alakai is named for Sarahs black Labrador Retriever who passed away in 2005; he was named for a rainforest in Kauai, one of Joel and Sarahs favorite destinations.
